We want to help prevent small injuries from getting worse! Appointments are only available one week in advance. Most mornings, we will open extra appointments for that evening. These are shorter appointments in an open teaching environment. If your injury or concern is complex, or has been chronic, you may be advised to book a regular appointment.
Physiotherapy
As primary health care professionals, physiotherapists combine in-depth knowledge of how the body works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability. With your independence in mind, a physiotherapist's goal is to restore, maintain and maximize your strength, function, movement and overall well-being. Physiotherapists prescribe personalized therapeutic exercises, and provide essential education about the body, what keeps it from moving well, how to restore mobility and independence, and how to avoid or prevent bodily harm.
Physiotherapy is a practice of medicine in which physiotherapists work with a diverse client base of all ages with a wide variety of health conditions. Assessing their different needs related to mobility, physical function and movement is all part of physiotherapy and its goal to help others with injuries or conditions to live a more comfortable lifestyle. Several physical tests and measures are taken, and with strong clinical reasoning the physiotherapist will provide the client with a detailed diagnosis. In order to properly treat the diagnosis, physiotherapy works to plan treatments that are consistent with the patient’s goals and health conditions. All techniques used are critiqued by our experts and are supported with evidence. Physiotherapy has a variety of treatment methods focusing on rehabilitation, pain management and chronic conditions which are treated accordingly.

Massage Therapy
The human body was built to move, to be mobile, and to be ready for action. Unfortunately, many people experience achiness, stiffness, and inflexibility.
The therapeutic use of massage affects all systems of the body, most particularly circulatory (blood and lymph), muscular, fascial, and the nervous systems. Massage therapy is also effective in the control of chronic or acute pain, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being. Physiological effects of massage include: physically stretching the muscles, encouraging circulation, inhibiting muscle spasm, and inhibiting and/or stimulating the nerves by reflex to ease pain and/or promote function as necessary.
Your appointment time can be customized to your schedule.
Our clinic is happy to accommodate all clientele, from pregnant moms-to-be through to elite athletes and office professionals.
We are WCB, Medavie and SGI accredited.

Rolfing, Exercise Therapy & Manual Osteopathy
The family of Structural Integration Rolfing Structural Integration, developed in he 1950s by Ida Rolf, is manual therapy based from Osteopathy that restores postural balance by releasing connective tissue adhesions. The slow, penetrating pressure of this style of bodywork takes advantage of the unique property of fascia to soften when steady pressure cause fascia to change its states. Structural Integration therapists-sometimes known as Rolfers- are trained to perceive the holistic effects of each local intervention and to adapt the depth and pace of their touch to the client’s develop body awareness. Rolfing along side with movement education will realign and balance the body’s structure with the field of gravity that we live in. It’s truly a holistic process of structural change that’s meant to not only improve physical well-being, but also emotional well-being.
Frequently Asked Questions:
-Can people come for just a few sessions? Yes, sessions can customized from one session to five sessions. These sessions are chosen based on the pattern the individual body holds.
-What is a Rolfing uniform? Your comfort is the most important thing; most clothing can be worked around. However, the Rolfing "uniform" usually consists of underwear (women - bra/underwear, no sports bras. Men - briefs or boxer briefs). You can be covered with a sheet or blanket during session if you wish, for you comfort. It's a priority that you are comfortable, so please talk to Jenna if you have any concerns about what to wear to the Rolfing session.
-Does it hurt? This is a very common question and the answer differs from person to person. Some find sessions extremely relaxing while others may have moments of intense sensation, but it should never feel painful.
-Who would benefit from Rolfing? I’ve worked with people aged 6 weeks to 80 years old, with those who are coping with significant challenges such as Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, or severe trauma from accidents and injury, as well as those who are in excellent health but are interested in Rolfing to enhance their athletic performance, to deepen their personal journey through bodywork, or to just plain improve their posture. Rolfing Appointments can also include: CranioSacral Therapy (CST) The central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) has the most influence over the body’s ability to function. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands- on approach to releasing tensions within the central nervous system. CST evaluates and releases restrictions in the central nervous system by gently feeling various locations of the body to test for the ease of motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing.
-Can I claim this on my insurance? Unfortunately, not in most cases (the bodywork world we are not considered a form of massage therapy but rather a form of Structural Integration) As such, we are not covered by nearly all insurance companies these days. On the bright side, any health care savings plan that you have set up can often be used for Rolfing. I can provide receipts for the deduction. *Check with your insurance plan in advance to see if Rolfing could be submitted.
Reiki
What is Reiki?
Developed in Japan in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui, Reiki means, "spiritually-guide life force energy" and is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, which also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands", and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what gives us life. If one's "life force energy" is low, we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
How does a Reiki treatment work?
You lay fully clothed on a massage table in a private room. The practitioner gently and non-intrusively places her hands in a sequence of positions which covers the whole body. A full treatment usually takes one hour, with each position held for several minutes. Your only job is to relax and allow your mind to release all thoughts and fears so that you can focus on the present experience.
Because Reiki is channeled from a universal life source, it will instinctively be guided to where a person needs it most, be it an emotional release, or a release from physical pain. Because the intention of Reiki is healing, the outcome is always positive. You may feel warmth where the Reiki energy is being applied, experience tingling sensations, or you may just feel relaxed and calm. Some people feel energized after a treatment.
What to expect after a treatment
Because Reiki's purpose is to remove blockages and re-balance your energy, some people may feel mild 'cleansing' effects after a Reiki treatment such as fatigue or a headache. It is a good idea to drink a couple of glasses of water before you go for a Reiki treatment, and to drink more water after to help rehydrate your body and help it rid itself of the toxins being released. Some people feel tired after a treatment, and a nap may be in order. Sleep can be a way for your body to replenish and heal itself.
Reiki is a gentle, relaxing, safe and natural way to help restore balance to your body. If you are looking for an alternative path of healing, Reiki may be just the thing for you. Reiki is not based on Western-medicine science. Reiki is not a substitute for proper medical diagnosis, treatment and care. Do not choose a Reiki appointment instead of your medical doctor!
